Who thinks the phrase,"you can't judge a book by it's cover" should be phased out? I mean, I know what a f*ckin book is about by looking at the cover. If it's got little cartoon characters and it's called Willy and Sally Like to Play, then I know it's a kids' book. If it's got Fabio on the cover, I know it's a romance novel. You get the picture. I think the saying is outdated. What do you think?

I know what's on the inside; bones, blood, muscles and organs.

Sometimes a cover can be deceiving. You need to read it to see if it's good or not. So, by looking at the cover, do you really know what the story is about. It may be a kids book, or a romance novel, but what is the story. You would have to read it to know.

Well, the cover has cartoon and it's called Willy and Sally like to play but you wouldn't know WHAT they like to play until you read it.
Same thing you wouldn't know what the romance is about simply by reading Fabio on its cover.
Maybe you couldn't care less and if that is the case, ya, you are gonna be outdated. No offence.

You have missed the whole point my friend. The saying has nothing to do with books at all. What it means is that you cannot judge people by how they look, or whats on the inside by what you see on the outside.

Don't do it. The book that you think is good is bad and the bad one is the best out there most of the time. Take time to see what is between the covers most of the time.

Maybe, but I think the idea still applies to humans. I can't think of a good substitute.
