Because it would cause inflation. More money in circulation=higher prices. Our government already tried this one in the `70s and it blew up in their face.

The concept of printing more money is out-dated.
Have you taken into account the fact the most of the population are actually in debt because of electronic funds? This money doesn't even exist - it's only there on the concept that you've borrowed it, and the banks then use that money to borrow more money from other people.
Pretty much everything now-days is paid electronically, so paper money has little value in itself. Today, if you need money, you could go to the bank and ask for a loan and they will just add it to your debt without giving you any cash, but 50 years ago, you would have had to find the physical cash.
So in short, no, printing paper money will not make any difference to your cash supply.

I see that no one has pointed out the fact that we have been printing more money than we should. And the rest of world knows it too but they are playing charade, for now, partly because they are printing a lot more money than they should. Inflation is just a tool by big banks to cancel out the interests they are paying out to deposits. Did you know that banks essentially print digital money by making loans of more dollars than they take in from deposits? If the govt say that our inflaction rate is 4%, then the banks will pay 3% interest on the $10 deposit they take in, and the govt then allow the bank to make $50 in loans and charge 5%. Money is being printed everyday at all levels.

This is a seriously foolish question. Everyone will know. It cannot be hidden. It cannot be justified.

Try studying up on the desparate inflation in the Weimar Republic in the late 1920s Germany. Just printing up more money has disasterous consequences caused by ruinous inflation. More and more worthless paper chases the same finite quantity of goods and services. The result is often dangerous political destabilization.

If you are a Citizen of USA then printing money will lead to a strong inflationary pressure as your is a developed economy.
Your external Deficit has increased a lot which is virtually unpayable.
If I were Bush then I would repudiate the Trillion Dollars Debt which is payable to Saudi Arabia thus making them poor and recovering the War cost and also reducing funds in the hands of these Rich Arabs so they would not be able to Finace Terrorism, also it would clear their heads and show them the light that how alliance with terrorist is Injurious to Health and their Pockets.

You are still too young and needs to grow a lot... Right, because there'll be inflation... But the real story behind this is that there is SOMEONE (or maybe many of them), controls the economic flow of the WHOLE WORLD... Remember WTC? If you do not know that, then stop thinking, and don't ask further. I would not give a further explanation... I'm scared...
