I love animals and I love my girlfriend, but nobody's going to let us have two dogs!!! We'd have to buy our own house. Am I crazy or is she not being logical?

Oh dear....having several animals myself I feel for your girlfriend. I guess it depends on a few things: How attached is she to the dogs? and Where do you live now? How is the dog situation going right now? Do you two already live together?

If you two already live together in an apartment that allows the two dogs and you just want to be cheap and get a cheaper apartment...then you're in the wrong.

If you two live seperately now, and you're looking to get an apartment together...then you're just going to have to take the "babies" too. I live in an apartment with 3 cats and a dog. Believe me, apartments are out there!

If you two after serious effort and a mutual decision cannot find a suitable place to live that will accept the dogs...then yes, after a MUTUAL decision, look for a new home for the doggies. Perhaps a relative will take them in if you offer to pay for the food and medical bills.

I did this right after I got married with my big dog. I moved to the city my husband lived in and it wasn't very pet friendly there. So, she went to go live with my mother until we were able to find a place that would accept a golden retriever. My mom fell in love with my dog and wouldn't let me have her back when we found a place that we could have her.

So, there can be a happy ending to this.......Just don't take those dogs to a shelter....there's no such thing as a no-kill shelter, and very few dogs that go to a shelter are actually adopted. Most are put to death......so please be responsible!

hi, it style of feels that hubby is appropriate and loves the canines and so the whole difficulty to do is that you would possibly want to develop into alpha because you'd be abode all day with the canines. For the hyper canines, there are issues that the vet can prescribe to calm it down yet best of all might want to be if hubby can upward push up an hour before and run with both canines early morning. this can leave them calmer for you in the course of the day. you want to lease a coach that could want to really help you get the canines to be extra behaved and to take heed to and obey your instructions each and every time. i do not see the different possibilities. The storage is a terrible difficulty to do to a relations puppy and could lead them to extra out of hand. i'd not placed an unrulely canines close to a newborn. prefer to get those canines experienced at present. to provide to a unique abode, there are such quite some homeless animals, it will be confusing. The shelters are a really nasty position and they kill animals they deem unadoptable and if there are too many, they make it so that they are deemed unadoptable (on paper as a fashion to kill it - like pretend incident comments). maximum shelters the position I stay try this and if you're contained in the south of u . s ., overlook it. except you will get a rescue to take them.

You are crazy, they are her family. You can rent a house with dogs. If they are small dogs most apartments will allow them. in NYC almost all apartments would allow.

Besides with the current bust in the real estate bubble, and the reasonable interest rates, Now is a great time to buy a house.

Well... if she's an animal lover then your screwed!!!!!!!! She's not gonna give her dogs away!!!! I know i wouldnt. Is it because the place your moving to doesnt allow any pets? If its because they dont allow pets then try talking with the landlord, it wont hurt to ask. Your landlord may allow the dogs to stay but may also raise the rent on you. If they do then have your girlfriend pay for the dogs to stay there. And if none of this works then move in by yourself for now. Goodluck!!!

If you feel you have to manipulate your girlfriend, then you must not have a very open and honest relationship. Talk about it openly and honestly. If you guys can't agree on this, then marriage is WAY out of the question, and you should consider finding another mate.

Then buy your own house. Her dogs are like her children. Don't make her abandon them. To you they are just dogs, to the dogs she is everything. Don't be cruel to animals. If you love her, love her dogs too.

Um, okay, I'm more worried about the fact that you want to manipulate your girlfriend than I am about the dogs.

You two shouldn't be living together without being married, anyway.
