To be honest, verizon is right up there with Cingular, both are sometimes very costly,
the best i would recommend would be U.S. Cellular,
its has free incoming calls, txt messages night & weekends. etc.
most plans are around $30-$50.
if you dont have U.S. Cellular, then try T-Mobile.
They have the cheapest plans, and soon to come, they are going to offer you free calls to any 5 numbers you want, wether it be landlind phone numbers, or cell phones, regardless of thier providers. hope you find what you looking for, sorry i didnt help.

Depends on where you live.
I like Cingular personally, they have a great plan for me, and I've never had problems with billing or dropped calls. Meaning if a call was dropped on me, it's because I deserved to have the call dropped since I might be up in the hills or something.
Haven't heard bad things about T-Mobile. They seem to have good minutes plans.
I personally can't stand Sprint. They have problems with their billing. They charged my friend 2 months in advance for service. He wound up having his phone shut off twice because of their screwy billing system.
For cheaper service, Metro PCS seems to be a good deal if you don't travel outside your area.

Do little research and ask around. Ask the people you call the most who's their carrier and if they like it.
See when U use it the most and why you need it. You can go prepaid if you use very little. TMobile has great rates for prepaif. Sprint is cheap but reception on the West Coast sucks. CIngular is getting super pricy.

i use Tmobile and i like it.. it's the best value (in minutes) for the price you pay and the service isn't all that bad. the only downer is that for some reason, they always choose the ugliest phones on the market but since they use sim cards, you can easily use phones from other providers that allow sim cards. or any other unlocked phone for that matter.

Metro PCS is the best bet if you have that service in your area. You get UNLIMITED local and long distance calls and UNLIMITED text messages for $55 a month
Verizon will rape your wallet, they get crazy on their bills sometimes

For the price, T-Mobile is the best. We've also gotten great customer service. DO NOT USE CINGULAR. They are ****.
