Track someone down by their mobile (cell) phone number?

I lost the phone number of a friend I only knew the first name of....however, I know how old she is, where she's from, where she worked at the time, etc.

If I found her number (she was going to get a new phone so it may not work anymore) could I track her down by it...? She was on a billed plan.

Could I track down her surname through a phone number?

Charles Lee Ray,

Thankyou for your concern for my "stalking" - but just FYI, she was never a partner - merely a friend. The reason I lost her number was that I lost my phone...and my comment about finding it was if I have it written anywhere.

Thankyou to all others though...

If you have a phone number, you could try phonebook.com and do a reverse search and it may bring up the name, not sure if it will work with cell phone or not, but worth a shot, good luck

I'm sure the NCIS people could help you out. They always seem to be doing fancy things with phone tracking.

Dude, best not go tracking no one down through phone companies and the like, coz you'll look like a stalker and may be breaking privacy laws in the process.

No ,only the cell phone company has that info and for privacy reasons they can not release that information to you. Sorry, you are out of luck. You can always work for that phone company and get it that way.

No, only law enforcement can do that. You must be a stalker and are getting antsy that she got away. Let's hear it for the broad!

Stop stalking your ex. You could get arrested. Move on, Pal.
