Well there are two types.
Commercial banking, meaning the banks you see everyday; and investment banking (IB), the financial firms that sells corporations' securities, mainly stocks and bonds.
The reason that people go into IB is because there is a big buck to be make in that area. It is almost always garantee to make a lot of money if you get into IB, but you have to study hard, take the different types of examinations before you get into that field, and work hard.
You see, Wall Street is not a nice easy place, it is a though world. You have to study hard and work hard to make a living. You don't get paid millions or billions of dollars by sitting around or simply get by through college. You have to study hard.
