My vote goes for the profession of a doctor. He'll earn from you ever since you're born and until you're finished.
Moreover a good and honest (!) doctor is a boon to the mankind.

I think that guy who does the voice presentations for the block buster movies, I watched a documentry on him once and he said he can make over $50k to $150k to do one movie, and it only takes an less than an afternoon for him typically to do.
He also has his studio at home too, so works from home.
There's only a handful that are renowned and get all the large movies, so it's obviously plenty of luck and having a distint voice is a requirement.
Bet they get to meet the stars, invited to the celebrity parties etc too. And must be great to hear your commercial whilst watching tv or when going to the movies.
My husband works in the game industry....but the hours are long during crunch time (in the past often not able to leave the office for 2/3 days) and vacation can't be scheduled too far in advance because games may get delayed. Cool and exciting industry to be in, but many people soon realize soon after joining it's more hard work and stress than all fun and games though.

On one level one could say the best profession is the one you love going to every day. It really depends on your criteria of measurement. One person might say the best profession is the one that earns you the most money which would be dentist or orthodontist last time I looked. So you decide...what would you love doing every day despite the income?
