Besides learning the language of course. I'd like to learn Japanese and then use it as a translator while I live in Japan.

learn the culture and customs along with the language....japanese history is extremely interesting and you will be suprised to learn that some of the things the western world thought they knew about Japan is incorrect....This is a disciplined and beautiful culture full of beauty and honor....... it's a difficult language...but well worth the effort......

Nothing in life that is worth doing comes easy. If you want easy, then you want nothing. The first thing you should do is learn to organize your thoughts. Reading your questions is like trying to decipher the ramblings of a 6 year old. Can you be a translator? Yes, if you study hard and dedicate yourself. Can you be a translator at 16? No. Who would want to hire a 16 year old to do serious translation - and pay for it? Can you be a tranlsator if you haven't learned the language? No. Did you really have to ask? Can you learn all the +2,0000 Kanji characters? Why not? See the first line of my answer. Would you be at a native or near-native level if you studied Japanese in college? Depends on the quality and competency of the teacher(s), and how you apply yourself to your studies. Help you with your dream of becoming a translator? Only you can walk the path of your dream. All anyone else can do is point the way. You have to walk it. You either make the journey or you don't. No one can carry you to it and no one can bring the dream to you and set it at your feet.
