I've seen a few attempts (usually guy avatars) to look a little older maybe with a hat and glasses. I think I even saw grey hair on a guy avatar. The female avatars all look like teenagers or 20 something. And I know that there are not just teenagers out there. Are people really that obsessed with trying to look young that they create young avatars? I don't count because, well, take a look. Or do I have it all wrong. Does Yahoo not give you an old avatar choice? I just think it is peculiar. Are there any old lady avatars out there? Can you show yourselves (just your avatar, nothing else please)?

You know I tried making an avatar for myself one time, but with my bald head and the only teenage choice avatar, I ended up looking like a newborn. All I needed was a pacifier. I still can't get rid of it from my email login.

I'll show what I look like when Yahoo realizes not all women are frozen in their early twenties. I think it's ridiculous but it's just one more example of society making older people as invisible as possible.

Part of it is that Japanime influence on the graphics. People are used to the giant bug eyes and tiny mouths and noses. Look at the other responders - they ever think that's how they look. They would probably draw themselves with optic lobes the size of human hearts given the chance. The rest is just a youth obsessed culture. Why are there no clothes for women vs girls? Everything for people ages 13-46 looks exactly the same. Cheap mass production? Commercialized pedophilia? nice observation.

I've seen a couple of granny avatars with wrinkles and grey hair piled on top of the head in a bun. How old does mine look? LOL!

I think alot of people are faking their avatars anyway. they make it look like what WANT to look like & arent wanting to show their double chin(yes I have one but I would show it if there was an option to). So many of the girl ones are so boring & look mostly the same.
I fear its because of a stereotype that folks on line are only young. I'm not & tried to make mine age appropriate but even then it doesnt look right.
There is definate age descrimantion going on. I have a mole by my eye that I rather like. Imagine Cindy Crawford without her mole!!! Its just not right. What can we on yahoo do to change that?

a chum I had earlier appeared at my Avatar and advised me that I appeared precisely like my Avatar. i presumed he became joking - he became intense. individually i do no longer think of evidently like me thoroughly - the hair is approximately remarkable, and the complexion and the lips and the eyes, despite if it is nonetheless distinctive, you be responsive to. it is like it is on the brink of being me, yet no longer particularly me - if it is clever. additionally there is no longer a great determination - case in point with the hairstyles.

The next thing you're going to want is avatars with moles, scars, and melanoma.
