Honestly, no I don't think it is appropriate. I wouldn't let my son have long hair. Where I come from (a small town) something as simple as long hair can easily bring harsh judgements upon a young man. It's sad, but true.

Honestly, it doesn't make a d*mn bit of difference one way or the other. As long as they wash it and comb it, it's ok. The harder you push to have it short, the harder they'll push back to let it grow (and vice versa). Anyone who has been a teenager knows that the way you dress in high school has nothing to do with the way you turn out as an adult. You have to pick your battles with your kids, and you should save them for the way they ACT, not the way they LOOK.

Let them do what they want with their hair. It is such a harmless form of self expression. Just think of all the other ways they can express themselves that might not be so harmless. Be grateful they choose their hair.

Now a days its style. Plus that gay thing that's going on just made it more appropriate.

Why not? I'd let my boys have long hair if they wanted to, heck my husband had long hair when I married him. It's all about their style, not yours.

Depends how long, I personally do not like long hair so I would not be thrilled if my son had long hair.

Sure, as long as they maintain straight "A"s and are otherwise very respectful. First "B" and the hair is gone. It has worked well for us.

If they like it, they should grow it. I grew up in the sixties and seventies, so I saw it all the time as a teen. Why not today, too?

i think it depends on the boy.. whatever he feels most comfortable with.. in my opinion, once he's a teenager, he should be allowed to decide his own haircut
