I really hope that gender doesn't matter so much. I don't see why is it any less ready than Great Brittain or India.

Why so many questions about having a woman president anyway?
We have had all men presidents since the beginning and look where we are today.
I'm not saying that the first or even second woman president would be the perfect president but it will take a few to find out but having only men for presidents has left an awfully nasty taste in my mouth that may never go away.
It seems that the males who ask this question as well as the males who answer this kind of question really don't care for the idea of a woman president no matter what they say in their questions or answers.
If they are scared of what it would mean to have a woman in office then that's great because now you get an idea of what women go through having so many stupid men in office from the beginning and it's only fair that they go through what we women have gone through too.
As for the question here, YES, I really do believe the country is ready for a female president but so many really won't admit it yet and maybe we will find out soon enough, ok.

Oh yes, americans have seen enough of male presidents. Country needs a female leader to taken upon the challenge of winning the global war against terrorism not only by guns but by heart. I think female president would do a better job.

YES- definatly, but it has to be the RIGHT women, Hilliary has the right image but is the wrong person, there really isnt very many that can pull it off at this time, but as soon as the right one comes a long I dont think she will have a very time getting elected.

I'm ready, but are the people that make up the country? No, I don't think so. Remember, these are the same people who voted for Bush a second time...

I can't think of any female right now I would vote for.
I can't think of any male right now I would vote for.
Who would want that job anyway? Compare pictures of Bush 5 years ago to now. He looks 10 years older.
Does a woman want to age 10 years in only 5?

Wit until everyone figures out that their choices for president is going to be tweedle-dee or tweedle-dum.
That how we ended up with Bush and Clinton.
OK folks how do we fix the system?

If "this country" is the USA. I think the people are but the political machine in Washinton may not be willing to let it happen.
