i am starting my own business with my fiancee and as you can imagine, costs to get started are outrageous. anyway, we found out about quickboks point of sale and loved the trial version of it, but the store version is like $599 to $1000!!! we don't have that kind of cash just lying around. so can someone please help???

There are many other POS systems available. Rather than trying to start your business as a software pirate, you might try finding one that's more affordable. A good place to begin your research would be here - http://dmoz.org/Computers/Software/Accounting/Point_of_Sale/
