when i put the car in drive or reverse the car stalls, someone tells me it is the torque, and another person tells me it is electrical problems. the car is a 1994 ford thunderbird, and has 110000 miles. when going speed limit drives fine and shifts fine. but when first starting off and it wants to stall the battery guage goes nuts.

When a torque converter goes out, it has a hard time delivering any power to the transmission and down the drive shaft to your wheels so you'd hear the engine rev but no "torque".

Your detail description sounds more like a tuneup issue. Is the idle too low to turn the torque converter? That is engaged when you shift from park to drive or reverse.

Yo yo yo... fancy fresh n shittt. haha. Hey if your torque converter bails, it would seem like the clutch was slipping and require more engine force to turn the tranny. Since most torque converters rarely give out now days... its probably 99% not that. More than likely it is.............. linkage out of adjustment, low fluid level, your idle speed is too low, your vavle body is gummy.. clean yo shitttt haha..

It could be as simple as idle speed is to low. Or low trans fluid level. good luck
