First off, DON'T be rude. If your question is something like, "Why do women look so freaking ugly without makeup," you won't get very many NICE answers. You will get answers, but they won't be nice.

Secondly, categorize your questions well. Think before you put them in each category. Music goes in the music category, injuries go in the injury category and so on. Characterize the "big" part of it first before you attempt to characterize the little or smaller parts.

Thirdly, don't hang out all in one forum; make your questions anywhere you want (as long as they are not categorized incorrectly).
Incorrectly categorized questions can, and will, get less answers.

Spell-check. Always spell check. People have a respect for you if you know what you're talking about, otherwise they tend to blow you off.

When adding additional details, think first to see if it's really necessary before adding it, because otherwise they'll be confused.

Try and get everything right the first time so that everyone who has seen it the first time will answer you nicely, and will answer you.

DON'T offer ten points for a standout (example: Fifty answers, and the fiftyith one gets ten points), or "first one to..." Those questions are quickly marked as spam or "gaming for points."

Good luck.

You've already got step 1--good spelling.

2. Ask the complete question up front, don't say "Can you help?" and expect people to read the rest of your question? You also seem to have this correct.

3. Include why you want to know something as that is often more important than the initial question.

4. Include things that you already know don't work or don't apply.

5. When you start seeing answers, add appropriate followup if you see things going down the wrong track.

make it interesting and relatable.for example...
there are no bad words.! the only reason there are bad words is because a llot of closed minded people have said that certain words are bad. you may ask: ,"why?" a typical answer would be that it means whatever. SO? why can't i talk about **** if i must .
i dont appreciate anyone telling my kids how to communicate. you see... my family doesnt cry or whine about having to hear some sailor swearin. because there are no bad words. i would really like to tell you something that is very near my heart and soul. BUT . I ******'N CANT! the story i almost told has a selection of letters formed into words that meet the worlds criteria for obscene or rude language. what a bunch of bull****!

Answer good questions.
Be honest.
Don't be mean.
Try put yourself in the "asker" position and answer the way you would want your own questions to be answered.

Works for me.

Have a short catchy title. Keep it open ended so there is no one right answer.

No typos or other stupid stuff.
