He found out the others in the Bush Administration lied to him and he went before the UN and made a damn fool out of himself about WMD in IRAQ ... so he resigned. I don't blame him a bit. In fact I respect his decision to walk out on Bush!

It could be a number of things, but one that really sticks out is this. He knew that bush and the administration was doing something out of wack with Iraqi war. He knew that administration didnt have solid evidence of WMD. He was tired of bush and the vice president making profits off a war that they started and the lies that they told to the american people and the UN to get it started. Now, if you read recent articals, you will see that Colin Powell is fighting Bush's bill that will make it legal for cruel interigations. He believes not only is it wrong, but it will go against the geniva convention.(sorry for spelling errors). So we know powell didnt leave as a supporter of his administration.

The Washington Post? Hmmm. Ok I won't say it. LOL Still, as usual it's information from that all important "anonymous source". The ones that feel so strongly about an issue they refuse to give their name. Still Powell is more moderate in foreign policy than Bush. There's a shocker.

Through Scheer, we learn that Powell never believed Iraq posed an "imminent nuclear threat."

I've always assumed he quit it in protest to Bush's lies about the war in Iraq and overstepping his executive powers.
