You know, more than 1,000 people per day ask this question. Even if it's not on Yahoo! Answers. Truth is, popularity is the least important thing in the world! It's stupid to be popular at school. It just means you're well known. That's cool and all but, still stupid. I mean, who cares if everyone knows them? As long as you have friends, you'll live happily. Being popular by being a celebrity is a complete different sibject. It's awesome! But only because you're popular because you're talented and of what you love to do. I guess being popular can be cool.

That all depends on how you want your life to be. You can be popular with your own group of friends and have tons of fun, and be nice popular. You could also be mean popular, like in mean girls the movie, if that is the way you want to be then being a dork is the best way to go

Popularity is important, in certain aspects. Like I mean you need to have friends to share things with, but being a stuck up jerk isnt cool

no, because if u r popular u have all these little stuck up bitches running after u who pretend their ure friend. i guess it's alright to a certain extent. i wouldn't mind being popular. but if i'm going 2 have all these phony people around me, i'd rather not.

in high school, it's everything. But if you're not, then you don't really care.
in real, adult life.....if you're popular, then you're either a celebrity, rock star, or sports star. The rest just don't care about being popular.

No. I'm not insanely popular but I know everyone and most ppl know who I am. They know what I'm like and they don't have a problem with that. I am who I am. And my friends like me as myself.
So I'll talk to anyone 'cos I basically get along with anybody but I know who my friends are and who my acquaintances are. And if ppl don't have fun with me, it doesn't matter, they can find their own group of friends to have fun with.
