this topic is REALLY hard for me for the fact that i don't really like him as a president and i have to give a FOUR minute speech about positive facts and the actions he has done....... it would be easier if i was negative.... but i'd do a lot better if the topic were about economics or ammendments and stuff

1.CALM DOWN!
2. When presenting a speech, define your perimieters, meaning, you're here to speak of Pres.G.W.Bush as a PRESIDENT, not the international policeman, not the Texas cowboy nor the son of a former president. Your perimeters are: his achievements as president, his on-going projects for jobs and the like.
3. Dont ever give a hint that you dont know what you're talking about. Lay out points.
4. Stick to your perimeter. Don't give side comments on the war or any other. They might counter you with his international policying but don't fret. Counter it with Bush as a humanitarian in a sense that his help transcends physical and domestic notions but on international policy. STICK TO YOUR PERIMETER!
5. I don't know any websites but at least try to research on his on going and finished economic projects and how he is strengthening homeland security, NEVER MENTION THE WAR!
6. I cant guarantee you that my answers would help you win but at least you'll have a sense of what I mean. Thanks!

There are alot of things. Some are obvious some you would have to think about. For one, look at how the economy bounced back after 9/11. How many predicted that we would fall into a depression. He also gave the nation hope after 9/11. I remember on 9/11 thinking "wow it is the end of the world". Many have lost that hope since but that has alot to do with the media and his critics. He has done much more but I am sure that others will point those out. Do the research and do not judge based on opinion.

Well just a fact that you can throw in-
2/3 of all al quaida operatives have been killed or captured since 9/11.

Just go to google and do a search for bush productivity, or bush approval, and I'm sure you'll find something. Good luck with your debate... and remember, if all else fails, start bs-ing like there's no tomorrow.

((EDIT))
the website in the first response will tell you everything you could possibly need to know.

I think the whole point here was to make you think of the opposing side of your opinion. Sure, it would be easier for you to make a speech about something you agree with, but you have to think in order to come up with something for the other side. That's what it's all about. If you want a positive thing about President Bush, stick to security. Terrorist plots have been foiled, no more attacks have happened on U.S. soil, and we have programs that work for interrogation. Just pretend you like him and put yourself in that mindset.

The point of debate is to win ... you don't have to believe what you are saying, just know it, say it with conviction, set the debate, and effectively anticipate and counter all arguments.

Back in the day I had to debate abortion from the Pro-Life side. I'm basically pro-I-dont-give-a-rats-behind, so before the debate we placed complimentary slices of cherry pie out for the audience. Even in a liberal school we took that debate hands down.
