Interesting thought, although I'm only in 8th grade, only my opinion, though.
In my opinion, I say yes. I strongly think after high school, intelligence is more important than fame, in a small school. Besides, after high school, you still got 6/8 of your life to go!

Does it really matter?
Is acceptance really that important?
Be whatever you've been conditioned to be..
Or whatever serves your purposes better..

As you so eloquently put it....YEAH!!! Have you ever heard the commercials for the NAACP "the mind is a terrible thing to waste?" It is very true that in the end intelligence is more important than fame.
I agree with you but im not sure there is a state of "cooler that cool" ;)-----sorry this is the philo section!

I love nerds. And most of the girls I know would rather have someone intelligent with a great sense of humour than someone who only had rippling biceps going for them. How is that going to help out the family later in life?
A combo of both hottie and nerd is ideal though... I'm not going to lie.

someone informed you that "COOL" is the answer - a thanks to get chicks. this is not really a lot cool. There are different issues that females discover alluring. looks, form, personality... Your Guitar taking section in received't (for instance) recommend as a lot... if she's not into track. if you're going for a public personality. - you're probable on objective... yet some ladies easily LIKE a guy who's a touch klutzy! It makes them extra actual... extra human and under no circumstances so intense on a pedestal.

Ice Cold. Nerd does not, however, = intelligent. I do it this way - geeks and dorks display aberrant social behavior. Nerds engage in intellectual pursuits (often because they excel at them but not always) So smart people are not all nerds. You should be learning to socialize, which will get you farther than anything else in life. Intelligence isn’t rewarded after you turn 18 by anyone. SATs are its last gasp, and they’re doing away with those.

Yes because I am a nerd. As a kid, I felt ashamed of it but now I realize that there's no escaping it; God made me a nerd and I'm very happy wearing glasses and reading lots of books.
Let's face it; if it weren't for nerds, we wouldn't have computers or other technological advances or even arts and humanities!

i finished high school a little over four years ago now. looking back its amazing how petty it all seems. i can't speak for everybody, but once you become an adult the obsessions with popularity and fitting in seem really silly (especially in the blatant forms they take in school.) i think you are right, but it is hard for kids to buck the trends i think.
