i mean we all live once. we're always talking about getting together and making love and peace. but we still judge each other based on the possesions we own or the car he or she drives. looks, they say, don't mean anything-oh yeah? well it sure is good motivation for sectioning people off into certain groups. i think people are just vile and materialistic. we really don't care about one another...all of our talk of world peace and golden rules are all bullcrap. the only people that follow these lessons are the slow and stupid-they mean well but they end up getting left out in the cold. even this comment/question won't provoke anyone's thinking. sick frigging world we live in...

It's impossible. There is no perfect mate.

You should look for the one who is most compatible with you and remember that you are also imperfect.

Compatible doesn't mean you are exactly alike. It means you can find things in common that are good for both of you.

Sex is definitely part of the picture, but ability to carry on an intelligent conversation, being able to spend time with that person, the ability to trust each other, and communicative considerations are also a big concern.

Common interests are important but not necessarily critical. You should both have compatible values. If you are totally committed to monogamy your mate should be also. If you believe in loyalty to family your mate should accept and respect that.

Speaking of respect, you should each respect yourself and you should respect each other.

If you get all these things right it still might not be the best match for you. And if you miss one or two you could still be a successful match. It depends on you and it depends on your mate.

It's not like combining sodium and chlorine to make salt.

A lot of the people that do choose their mates based on material things get just that: material things. They often don't get any love or respect or friendship.
And people that choose their mates for their looks, well they get to stand next to someone who's good looking. For awhile anyway. Until they get fat or old or sick. Then I guess they have to trade them in for a newer model.

My point is just because the rich and beautiful pair up, doesn't mean they last.

The ones that last have to have something more. And it does exist, but you won't find it if you are rejecting people because you want someone 'perfect'.

Ok, with all that said I'll say your perfect mate is someone who will commit themself to you and you commit yourself to them and both of you love and respect one another regardless of your personal differences. If you both can live this way and be happy then that's probably as close as you're gonna get. To expect anything more would be foolish.

Because there isn't a 'Perfect' person in the world, you had to make do to accept the good and bad. To be tolerant and compassion. Understand, give and take.

"Perfect" is a human impossibility. You might come close to perfect but the odds of finding that person is astronomical.
