I am one of many who do not believe in putting a baby on a schedule. No book can tell you how often your baby needs to eat, how much, when he needs to sleep and how long, etc. Only your baby can tell you that. I don't see how anyone can wake up a happily sleeping baby and force them to eat (hmmm, forcing food on a satisfied child? Sounds a lot like what we later call "Happy Plate syndrome" and a HUGE contributor to our overweight population!!!) and I REALLY can't see how someone can listen to a hungry baby cry because "It isn't time to eat yet!" GET REAL! Babies should be fed when they are hungry, not when it's convenient. All babies grow and develop at different rates, so there is no way to put them all on the same schedule. They also grow in spurts, and will need to eat more often during those times.
