Some Europeans left, and some didn't. Some tribes amalgamated and coalesced into nations. Some didn't. This is really too vague a question to give a definitive answer.

Since Humans have been on the planet there have always been tribes (nations and sub-nations). All tribes on the planet derive from this part of the planet called Africa.
European business and European tribesman are still there. They are just goin back to their roots.
