I'm building a custom computer online and i ran into something odd. The website has the Nvidia Geforce 7900GTX (512mb) for $444 and the Nvidia Geforce 7950GT (512mb) for $290
.....and also the Nvidia Geforce 7950GX2 (1Gb) for $574. ...this one probably costing alot more cuz it has 1 gb mem..(not sure)

so my question is, why is the 7900gtx more costly than the newer 7950gt? and what do you recommend that i buy? is the newest 7950gx2 worth its money? -thanks.

the Nvidia GeForce 7950 GX2 is like having 2 7900 GT 512 MB cards but it fits in one PCIe slot, and it runs better and runs cools better.

Get the 7950GX2 1 GB. it is total pwnage.

The GTX is better than the GT for overclocking. Im not sure why the difference in price though between the 7900 and the 7950. maybe just a good deal? if you cant get the 7950GX2 get the 7950GT

I would buy the 7950GX2 (1 Gb) because it will keep you from having to upgrade for a LONG LONG time. If you have the cash go for it.
