This is a hard problem, for sure, but you're not alone -- MANY more young adults (myself included) are still affected by this than you think!
What to do about it depends partly on how long you've had the problem -- have you done it all your life, or did it just start recently? If it just started recently, than you should *definitely* see a doctor about it, ASAP, (yes, it's embarrassing, but doctors see this stuff all the time!) because there might be an underlying condition like a urinary tract infection that could be easily treatable, but cause major problems if untreated.
If you've had it for all or most of your life (or if you wet the bed for a number of years as a kid, "outgrew" it for awhile, and then had it resurface), there are still treatments available. According to most medical sources, the most effective long-term treatment is to use an alarm system that is designed to wake you up with a loud noise as soon as a sensor detects moisture hitting your clothes or bedding. It can take some time to work, but the idea is eventually to teach your body to wake you up out of deep sleep in response to your bladder feeling full before it gets over-full to the point where you wet the bed.
If it's a problem that comes and goes, you might also want to take a look at your sleep patterns and make sure you're getting a good amount of sleep -- stress and lack of sleep can make it hard for your body to wake up in time to use the bathroom, even if you are able to sleep "dry" through the night much or most of the time. This is definitely the major factor in my case and I have talked several others who have said the same thing as well.

If you have trouble containing urine during the day also, then it's a bladder control problem. If that's the case, when urinating, hold back the stream of urine for a seconds, then release, then hold back again and continue like this until finished. I think it's called the Keigel Squeeze...not sure, but I know that the exercise is effective for bladder control problems.

My sister had the same problem, she went to the doctor's, and they told her, she's just a heavy sleeper, She goes to the bathroom before bed, and sets her alarm so she can go half way thru the nite, she hasn't wet since. But you should have yourself checked out to make sure your bladder is fine. Good luck.

Talk to your doc. It could be an indicator of diabetes. Also, do you drink alot? If you drink too much you can sleep to deeply to wake yourself up to go. My best friend used to do it. Good luck.

Please go to a psychiatrist(but don't think that you have a mental problem). It may be that you are afraid or anxious about something that is effecting your psyche. It is a curable problem. You can also contact a doctor online if you don't want to go personally
