the chlorophil hides any other colours that might be there. If the green is weak the other colours show like in those trees that are always purple, coleus plants, poinsiettas and so on.

Not really, chlorophyll is the reason plants are green. Blue and red light are both absorbed by the chlorophyll so the plant appears green. If you are interested you could look up photosystems it will tell you a lot more about the way chlorophyll uses the light.

Chlorophyll absorbs most strongly in the blue and red but poorly in the green portions of the electromagnetic spectrum, hence the green color of chlorophyll-containing tissues like plant leaves.
In other words, the energy coming from medium wavelenghts doesn't interest the plant

Plants look green because of the region of the light spectrum they absorb & reflect.The pigments present in the leaves absorb most of the blue & red region of the incident light.These pigments are not capable of absorbing the green region of the spectrum.In other words,the green light is reflected from the plant & that is why it looks green.

Golden Privet, Ligustrum ovalifolium, shrub as much as ten feet. Chamaecyparis obtusa "Nana Aurea", conifer, as much as 3 feet. Thuya occidentalis "Rheingold" conifer, as much as 5 feet Mexican Orange Blossom, Choysia Ternata,"Sundance" shrub 4 - 5 feet. it is a start up!!
