That's because outside of New York the NL is a joke this season.
The fact that a no-talent sub .500 team like the Astros can even dream about the wildcard in September proves this beyond a doubt.

It is certainly talked about in NY where it is speculated which team would give the Mets the most trouble, assuming of course neither the Marlins nor Phillies make it, in which case the Mets would be playing (presumably) the Western Division winner in the first round and only deal with the Wild Card winner should both teams survive a second round. A well known radio sports talk show host in New York who is a Giant fan (go figure why someone who hates the Yankees and Mets should be on a New York radio station) talks constantly about how much he would love it if the Giants won the wild card and were able to wreck the Mets season.

i could not agree greater... I had the comparable ideas in mid-August while the NL significant had the ultimate 3 communities with the terrific checklist interior the national League. that is insane how countless issues are from a year in the past. The NL West went from being the terrific to the least. i think of it has to do with ameliorations for the time of the season. bear in ideas final year, the Brewers and Cardinals ruled the NL significant the 1st a million/2 of the season, then the Cubs took over and gained the branch. i think of while that occurs, the communities in rivalry merely beat one yet another up and their records exchange into deflated. It befell interior the NL West this season with Arizona dominating the 1st a million/2 (or greater) of the season, and then the Dodgers made some key strikes.

I think most people have written off the NL because of the horrid record they posted in the interleague play only one team posted a winning record against the Al(Rockies) and maybe two or three had 500 records so, as wrong as it is the NL has been written off

probably no writer or anchor wants to becuase there is no strong wildcard team and in years past the NL WC team was under 500 and didnt deserve to be in the playoffs and any ESPN personality will tell you the mets are the team to beat in the NL

I am not talking about it because the Reds choked in the end. 3 weeks ago they were leading the wild card and now they are 4 1/2 back and probably out of it for good.

Yeah I know, the Padres will probably win it but as of today, the Philly's and San Fran are both tied, I don't think San Francisco will win anything, and then Florida and the Red's are right behind them so I have no idea why no one is discussing this.
