The way to do the first one is this:
Let x be the number of non-discounted and y the number of discounted. You know that 8x+6y=3580 (6 is b/c of the 2 dollar discount) and that x+y=525. Two equations and two unknowns can be solved several ways. This one is best by solving the second equation for y and subbing into the first equation to get x:
y=525-x
8x+6(525-x)=8x+3150-6x=2x+3150=3580 so 2x=430 so x=215. The only choice with 215 non-discounted tickets is choice c.
For the second one, you have a rectangle so the perimeter of a rectangle is the sum of all the sides. There are two sides of length L and two sides for the width W. So 90=2L+2W. But L=2W since the length is twice the width. So 90=2L+2W=4W+2W=6W so W=15 and so L=30. That seems to be both choices a and c in your list, but the important thing is knowing how to solve the problem yes?
Hope this helps!!

Problem 1
I just multiplied 525 by 8, subtracted the actual revenue and divided the remainder by 2 (since the difference must be the number of senior tickets with 2 dollars off that were sold).
I believe that results in 'C'
Problem 2
Divide 90 by 2 and get 45. That's the total for one side and one end. Since the sides are 2 times as long, I go with:
2x + 1x = 45
x = 15
So 'A' seems the correct answer.

1. c 215*8=1720
310*6=1860
=3580
2. a & C- arent both answer the same
15 width double = 30 which is said to be the lenght.. perimeter of reactangle is the two lenght and two width so 30+15+30+15=90.
hope im right.!!!

Problem #1 - C
Problem #2 - A or C since they seem to be the same unless you mistyped one.
My suggestion: pay attention in class and do your own homework. If you have trouble, get a tutor.

because you've 2 variables, you opt to have 2 equations. the whole variety of tickets offered is 360, so all of us do not ignore that the first equation is: X+Y=360, with X being the variety of scholar tickets offered, and Y being the variety of man or woman tickets offered. For the 2d equation, you'll have two times as many scholar tickets as man or woman tickets so the 2d equation is 2Y=X. Then use what's called substitution and replace the Y into the 2d equation so that you get: 2Y+Y=360 simplify to 3Y=360 and then divide through 3 to get Y=one hundred twenty . Then, you desire two times as many scholar tickets as man or woman tickets, so X=2Y, X=2(one hundred twenty), and also you get X=240, continually double verify 240+one hundred twenty=360 tremendous!!! so that you've 240 scholar tickets, and one hundred twenty man or woman tickets.

6x + 8y = 3580
x + y = 525
Multiply bottom by -6
6x + 8y = 3580
-6x - 6y = 3150
2y = 430
y = 215
x + y = 525
x + 215 = 525
x = 310
ANS :
C.)
215 non discounted
310 senior discount
-------------------------------------------------
P = 2(L + W)
L = 2W
90 = 2(2W + W)
90 = 2(3W)
90 = 6W
W = 15
L = 2(15) = 30
Width = 15 ft
Length = 30 ft
