put drano gel in the tub, wait 30 minutes and run hot water for about five minutes. If that doesn't help, call the plumber.
You can probably put the gel in the sink and do the same thing, then turn off the water line under the sink and take your pipes apart under there, you may have a toy stuck in there or something simple like that.

Your sink and tub drain are connected. There probably is a hair clog past the tub and the water is backing up in the tub. Try a cup type plunger in the tub first. Put some water in the tub to cover the plunger, put a wet rag over the tub overflow to stop air getting in and plunge vigorously. Someone will have to hold the rag over the drain while you do this. Plan on getting wet. Hair and junk will probably come up. Remove this before it goes back in the drain. The water should start draining. The bleach idea is a good one. After the water runs out, put a cup or two of household bleach in the drain and let set over night. It will dissolve any hair left. I worked 15 years in a senior apartment complex and this worked everytime for me. If this doesn't work then you will have to call a plumber because you have a major blockage beyond the tub.

Yeah, sounds like the drain might be clogged.
If the sink drain can't empty into house's main sewer pipe,
it usually "backs up", into the lowest possible spot - like the tub.

It could be somthing simple. Perhaps a small clog where the bathroom sewer line joins the larger house sewer line.
Try using a thorough plunging to pry it loose.

Or, it could be that the sewer vent pipe has tissue clogging it. If that's your problem, a garden hose squirted down the pipe will wash it clean (You have to climb on your roof for this one)

Good luck!

Well #1 tell him not to and discipline him.... doesn't matter if you're tired of doing it, you have to control your child. #2: When I was little, they used to sell these rubber/plastic animal things that went over the faucet so that you couldn't touch it and get burned if it was too hot, or hit your head on it or anything like that. Perhaps look for those and just buy two of them and put them on top of the faucets so that he physically cannot play with them. I would honestly suggest getting a sliding door for your shower, because that will make it harder for him to get into the actual bathtub. But you seriously need to keep an eye on him, because there's so much danger that could come from him playing with the bathtub by himself. He could fall and hit his head, he could drown, or any other form of serious injury.

You might think this is crazy but it works 99% of the time. Go through the vents on your roof.Your toilets, sinks, and tubs have air vents to aid in draining.Run a "plumbers snake" down the vents. They should go down with no resistance at all until you find the plug.Be carful when on the roof.GOOD LUCK!!!!

Clean the drains of both the sink and tub. You have an obstruction in one, probably the tub drain, downstream from the tub drain. You may need to treat them more than once.

You probably have to snake out your main drainage pipe, the larger one. Drain pipes have a vent on your roof. leaves, acorns, and rodents can get in there and flow down into the drain and block it.

You can follow the same directions that I gave to another person who had just put a water heater in and found her bathtub drain blocked.

Something is plugging your pipes past where the tub and sink come into the line. You need to snake it out deeper or call a plumber who can do it for you.

You need to send a snake down the bathtub drain or remove the toilet and send it down through that pipe.

Get a priest, you may have a poltergeist, or a ghost of some sort.

That is if the plumber can't fix it.

Only use an exorsist as a last resort.

cheers !!!
