whats your thoughts on tabs being taken of the net due to "legalities". I think it sucks myself, i love being able to find all the songs i wanna learn to play when i wanna play em. I'd hate to have to go buy all those freakin books to substitute for this. But i'd like to see what everyone else thinks about this

They tried to stop downloading and people still get around it, so I'm sure that though the well may dry up for a bit, you'll still be able to track down a lot of stuff, although probably not as easily in the past. That being said, it will do you much more good to be able to listen to a song and transcribe it by ear. Ok, this is not an easy process at first but you'll get better at it with practice and experience. It really is more effective in the long run, because it will make you a better musician, and of course so many of the tabs on the internet are not tremendously accurate.

I can't believe that they are taking tabs that people have figured out with their own two ears and written down for resource off of the net. That really pisses me off. 2 different musicians might interpret the song differently, and both of them might not be exactly right anyways. Besides, I believe that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and if some musician wants to learn a song bad enough, they will just figure it out anyways or just stop buying anything by whatever band the song is written.

I'm with you on that one. I can almost never find the piece of sheet music I'm looking for anyway. Yeah, there's tons of books on classic pop tunes, but the more eclectic stuff is harder to find. Then a lot of times the music is scored for piano and the real parts aren't in it. The tabs are great. In any event, If I can't find the tab and can't figure out the part myself by ear, I probably won't bother with it. Its not worth it to drive 30 miles to the music store on the off chance that they actually have the piece there. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

OMG! I just went and checked "the source" and saw what you are talking about, and that sucks!

I'm glad I have lots saved already, but it's still a drag that it's being pulled, possibly forever. Not cool.

It truly is all about the Benjamins. *sigh*
