Hi there,
There seems to be a lot of turbulence in your mind, i.e. there is too much thinking going on. Let us call it mental noise. You might go through these symptoms if your life situation starts to get mundane, boring and repetitive. Same faces, same places and same chores.
It is a reflex reaction by you mind wanting something more, different and exciting. It is an attempt by your mind to escape the present into the future, in the hope that it might bring excitement and adventure.
The key is to accept the mental noise, understand it - and not run away from it. Just acknowledge it is there. But go back to your everyday life, your present moment. Any attempt to escape your mental-noise by taking a holiday etc will only be futile as you have to come back to your daily life.
Remember that past and future are only in your mind. The only thing that is real is the present. Hence embrace it, look at your activities as things that you have to do without thinking where they are going to take you...Take up meditation to control your thoughts.
Depression in people is caused by resistance to the present, and trying in vain to escape it.
The mistake would be to let your mental noise cripple your everyday life.

when i was in college I was having a tough spell too and it turned out they had really accessable counselors available for only a few bucks a session because it was based on a sliding fee. Well I was hesitant to go at first but it was the best thing I ever did. It really helped me get in touch with my feelings and develop some ways to cope with stress, manage time better, and face things that were causing me problems. I know everyone has a few rough patches but if this persists and becomes a chronic type of problem, don't be afraid to try the counseling thing at least once. You can always just not go back if you don't like it.

Sounds like something is eating at you. Did you break up recently? What's on your mind? Maybe you need an activity to do when you are alone...like a hobby. Take up art, writing, or something. Remember this is time that you should do the things you can always do when you are single and alone. Go see a movie (who cares if you are alone). Be adventurous. Have some fun. : )

Change is always hard, and it sounds like you are dealing with some changes in your life. I would say that a nice trip to a comfortable place would help, perhaps home? I would also suggest trying to get outside, perhaps for a walk. It soinds like you are a person who needs to be alone sometimes. If nothing else, see your campus counselor/doctor. They see this kind of thing all the time.

sounds like depression, if it is, and it goes untreated it can have a devestating effect on your life. To have that heavy pit in the bottom of your stomach is very tiring and dreadful, and to feel as if there is nothing good in the world is horrible-I've been there. See your doc, talk to someone

Did you go away to school? If you did, it sounds like maybe you need a trip home. Homesickness sucks. If you didn't go away to school... maybe you just need a vacation to get away from everything. Try somewhere secluded and let your mind go blank.
