I'm sick of HUGE, FAT people telling me that "cars" are too small for them, so they "need" to drive an SUV. That is the number one excuse I get when I ask someone why they drive such a terrible vehicle for the envirenment.

A new study shows that higher incidences of CANCER correlate heavily with high incidences of CARBON MONOXIDE. L.A. and the BAY Area, have the highest per 1000 people, so it's not just because there are more people, it's because there is more Carbon Monoxide fumes being spewn into the air.

So what is your excuse for driving an SUV?

SUV drivers don't care, they are scared to drive and are insecure with themselves so the environment is the last thing on there mind

I'm a fat girl (size 16), and don't drive an SUV.

I care about the environment. I care about saving endangered animals. I'm going surfing this weekend (and renting a car, not an SUV--living in NYC makes car ownership impractical), and I always like my playground to be clean.

An old Florida Cracker environmentalist once told me that environmentalism isn't about hugging trees. He told me that the earth will go on forever, no matter what, so it's not about saving the earth. What environmentalists do is try to keep the earth a good place for humans and the things we love. We may not go on forever, especially not at the rate we're going.

I drive an suv, and don't have big butt. But I also live in Wisconsin where 4/wheel drive is a must in the winter. I also have a boat and a camper and cant pull all that around with a VW bug. There are many application where they are a must. Its the user who would be the abuser.

The environment is more important to me than comfort. Given a choice, I'd pick a roomy electric car and charge it from a wind-driven generator, since I live in a windy state.

The environment. I've always driven smaller, more fuel-efficient cars. A car for me is only to get from one place to another. For my next car I'm gonna get an even more fuel-efficient one no matter how ugly or dorky-looking they are.
