you are SO not short.
i was ALWAYS teased for being short, but i was under 5 feet. im 5'2 and im 16. you have absolutely nothing to worry about. your friends just have tall parents.
if you wanna be taller, try heels. ;]

First of all, happy half birthday (hahahaha)
Nahhh, you are not short, you'll grow up to 5'5 maybe 5'6. The process of growth will take place until you are 17 or 18. Dont worry abt tht, now you are already average height.
If you wanna be taller, u shld play basket ball for 15 minutes everyday, just for fun sake, just shoot some hoops, tht will help your total body to stretch, trust me basket does help alot. If you dont like the idea of shooting hoops try basic yoga streching every morning, 15minutes a day is enough.

Your not the tallest, but your by no means the shortest. I know 17 year olds that are 4' 11". Don't worry, your only 14 1/2...you'll grow some more.

Are your parents short? Brothers? Sisters? Aunts? Uncles? Are you male or female? Did either or both of your parents have a growth spurt at 15 or older? What is normal for you may not be exactly normal for everyone else. I do not know the answer, but please consider the above questions.

You are just below average height for an adult woman. As you are only 14 1/2, you may well still be growing and your height would probably be considered about average for your age. HTH : )

i am 30 and am only 5' 1. You are going to stretch a little more. so I wouldn't worry about it.
