I certainly don't feel like I'm being represented. I'm an intellectual, an atheist, a firm supporter of freedom in all its forms.

When the whole congress gets up and repeats the pledge of aliegance and shouts "UNDER GOD!" to make a statement, I know that freedom does not truly exist in America. Not yet.

Basically we are spoon-fed choices by those beyond politics. There is a group of movers-shakers that go beyond politics, and beyond the wealth and power sector. For many years now elections have been nothing but a farce.

Every president since Woodrow Wilson has had members of this group deeply enmeshed in their cabinet or team.

I would say it is pretty much too late. But that doesn't keep me from voting for the lesser of evils. Study each candidate's platform and voting record before you vote. But don't expect things to change much. Only prayer will accomplish that.

Not to go all political science on you, but there's never been a clear resolution about whether the US is designed to be a trustee or delegate model of representation. In a trustee model, you are electing your representatives to do what they think is best for the country, regardless of whether it's better for you and your district. A delegate model says that your rep should do and vote for the things that his/her district wants. We're called a representative democracy (delegate model), but not sure it ever really worked that way, except when they are sending pork back to the district to get re-elected!

With the influence of special interest groups and big money, the answer is no. We have corrupted politicians on Capitol Hill!

Write a letter to AIPAC - http://www.aipac.org. They give money to every US Congressman and Senator. The address is on their website. Why write 535 letters where only one will do. AIPAC will do the rest by sending Ehud to Congress and 5 art students in vans to your house to track your every move. Once you are sleeping, the art student breaks into your house, places a pillow over your face and unloads a clip from her silenced Uzi machine gun. The police will play stupid and declare your death a suicide.

We are not represented anymore. All of our senators and representatives have sold out to special interests. ALL of them, democrat and republican.

Politicians are mainly corrupt. They do want they want or else do what their employer says to do. The people are represented as they should be.
