Do you mean Meredith Viera? Go back to game shows? She was a very good news journalist for CBS in the 80s before she left to raise her family. She also worked for ABC news. She is much more than a game show host, she's a very respected journalist. Maybe you are just used to Katie Couric.

I think of Meredith Viera a little different from you. I remember her from "West 57th" back in the 80s, which was a younger, faster version of "60 Minutes". It took me a long time to get used to her doing "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire". She is well-suited to "The Today Show", you just have to get used to the changes.

I don't know about anybody else and thank goodness we all have our own opinions, but I love Meredith Vieira. I think she's funny, sweet, honest and a hell of a woman. She's obviously a very strong individual taking care of her husband, children and a full-time job. Most people would of put him in a nursing home.

I watch "The Early Show" on CBS. Much more interesting and the newscasters have more personalities.
By the way, the "wannabe" you're dissing was pretty good on The View with Barbara Walters for years. Of course she has been doing it a lot longer than that as others have already said.
Everybody has their own opinions, though.

I think its nerves. Meredith Vieira is an excellent journalist. Give her time. She does have huge shoes to fill. But I also think Ann Curry would have been great too.
