31 weeks is about the time that you start having heavy discharge. To know whether or not this is what is happening here is the difference

Discharge- Will be thick and either white or yelloeish in color. Is kind of creamy as opposed to slimy or mucus like. you will continue to have this until the end of pregnancy. My advice is to buy breathable panty liners in bulk and wear them 24/7. It is easier than changing your underwear 4 times a day.

If it was your mucus plug, It looks just like mucus! It can come out in one big chunk or a few small ones. Itlooks just like when you have a real bad cold and blow your nose. It will be clear and possibly have some blood in it.(sorry for being so graphic but it is hard to tell sometimes)

If you think you lost your plug call your doc to be safe, he may want to check your cervix to make sure you are not dialating.

Good luck!

no need to panic.. just call your OB in the morning . Mucus plug is just a sign that you are soon to have the baby.. (i mean it can still take weeks for labor) My mucus plug came out one week b4 my water broke and my daughter was a week early.. and make sure its really your mucus plug and not just a regular discharge . A thick dischrge could just b a sign that youve been overexhausting yourself and you need to take it easy since you are at your 31st week...
So good luck and dont stress

There are nurses at the hospital that can answer medical questions 24/7. Call the hospital and tell them what's going on...more then likely they will tell you to come in and get checked out...so you will end up in the ER. Definitely go or call. I agree that 31 weeks is WAY too early and a dangerous time to be going into labor. I have read articles stating that you will lose it sometimes a several weeks before going into labor....but you should still call and make sure. I'm due Sept. 27 this month.

Call your OB. Don't rush off to the er. I lost mine at 33 weeks, and my son was not born until 37 weeks. The baby does not automatically follow the mucus plug. I can still be a while. It is not a tell-tale sign of labor. Call your OB, he or she may want to see you to check for thinning or dialation of the cervix.

if you did you will be fine... many women will lose it weeks before they have their baby. Just make sure to tell your doctor you think you lost it so they can check you... that does mean your cervics are opening... but does not mean they will keep opening like as if you were in labor. But if you get any bloody show you should contact your doctor right away or the labor and delivery at the hospital. Good luck and relax.

You can lose your plus weeks before you go into labor. I lost mine piece be piece starting at 28 weeks. My doctor told me at 35 weeks it was all gone, and I didn't have the baby until 38 weeks. It's okay, don't worry!

my plug with all my little ones substitute into blood stained yet all started out diminished crimson, as is maximum persons's. a chum of mine substitute into loosing her waters for properly over a week merely little and discharge and he or she advised via her midwife it substitute into thank you to early so it may no longer have been them (32 weeks), she ended up dropping her toddler by using stupid lady who did no longer something. i think of while you at the instant are not feeling precise merely pass to the well-being middle to be on the risk-free factor. desire all is nice and revel in toddler x

That doesn't necessarily mean you're going into labor soon, but watch for labor signs. Call your doctor in the morning.
