Is it true that when you pick up the money from Western Union, you need a question and answer from the sender to receive the money? Or the only thing that is required is the ID? Please...let me know. I am sending the money to a buyer but I want to be sure I will receive the product. Thanks

All you need is your driver's license or State ID. It must have your picture on it. The question & answer is only if you don't have an ID.....With the overpopulation of illegal immigrants, they end up using the question and answer method of picking up money...)(

hummm. It sounds like you are sending some money to a "buyer" not the other way around. But why are you sending money by western union ( which only take a few minutes to be received?) If you are buying something from someone., why can't you send them a check or money order by Federal Express. . Why is it necessary to send money to someone for a product you aren't even sure you are going to receive, and especially when the party will have the money within minutes. Whoever the "buyer" is will be receiving cash money.

I use western union a lot. In sending, you have a control number on top right of the receipt and that's the number you will give to the recipient. You don't have to have a question and answer, control number is sufficient. Also, yes, the recipient needs to show at least one Identification Card (ID) to prove the identity of the recipient. I hope this helps.

I don't know about the product you are talking about.

Be careful when sending money via Western Union it's easily abused, like in all the property scams that circulate on gumtree at the moment. If you can find another way to transfer the money I'd suggest using that instead.

When you are sending money, you have the option of including a security question that only the receiver would know the answer to. But you don't have to include that feature in your transaction if you don't want to.

You can show them ID that's all you need unless you don't have one. Then they ask you that for security.
