Being without a job.

Root cause of unemployment is lack of dilligence and motivation to keep/aquire a job. And of course the assumption that a job should be available at any time for anyone who wants one. A severe lack of work ethic. How many mexicans complain that they just absolutely cannot find a job no matter how hard they look?

The system produces arts and science graduates of mediocre variety in lakhs every year. There is no job for them. There is a heavy shortage of artisans of all type because the children of the artisans become graduate and it becomes below prestige for them to take up the family profession. The schools and colleges do not teach that all professions are equally important for the society and young people should be prepared to take up any of the artisans jobs after their graduation. Those who can go in for specialization can try. Forcing bribing their way into engineering
or getting into quota seats and coming out with a degree with just passing marks and again waiting for quota jobs has become an occupation. There are not enough technical schools to train the artisans. There is even an effort by UPA minister arjun singh and co to force the industrialists to give quota in their private industries. They are going to amend the constitution to that effect. Though this may infringe the personal freedom yet the supreme court as usual will rule in favour of government.
The most important factor is even the MPs do not adhere to family planning. we can go on listing the reasons because the root is the congress rule for 50 years after independence. There is quote
tat told nehru Just after independence that unless we check our population we will have problem of unemployment in future to which nehru is said to have retorted "I want a large population for huge man power"

Hi,
The root cause for unemployement is lack of motivation for striving harder to achive & unclear about what you want. Its not laziness as many have said here. Lack of motivation is because person is unclear about what the person wants to achieve. Person may have desiers to achive certain things in life but those are not goals. Desires are wishes like a well fed man may want to have a cup of icecream. But striving for goals are like a man trying to find food when he as not eaten for a day or two. Is it the fault of the unemployed that they are not strving hard. Definetly not. I think it is just God decided to keep certain people in the dark while enlighten the others.

1) Increased population: causing availability of a large workforce against too few opportunities.
2) Lack of skills : improper training and lack of language skills causes the majority of the workforce to be unemployable in the more lucrative sectors, e.g. call centres, webdesigning.

Increasing population and lack of economic development. Increasing population means the supply of labor always exceeds the demand. Lack of development implies that even if there are skilled workforce they cannot be employed in any job.

Demand for employees and their skills doesn't match the supply of people with such skills. If every job requires a high school degree, and not everyone gets a degree, there will be problems.
