I work for a goverment agency (I won't tell you which one hehe). We are receiving a lot of e-mails and calls from American people who are showing their indignation (in both appropiate and inappropiate ways) due to Mr. Duane Chapman's arrest.

Is really Mr. Chapman THAT popular in your country? If so, are you completely aware of the reasons why Mr. Chapman was extradited to Mexico?

Thank you for answering my question.

PLEASE USE APPROPIATE LANGUAGE. IF YOU WON'T USE IT, AT LEAST GIVE A LOGIC RESPONSE TO MY QUESTION.

Once again, thank you

I think Dog Chapman is very popular in this country, because he assists in getting so many thungs off of the streets.
I've heard a little about his impending charges in Mexico. I believe Dog illegally captured Andrew Luster (Lester?) in Mexico. I say illegally, because if I understand correctly, Mexico doesn't recognize bounty hunting. So in the eyes of Mexican officials, Dog kidnapped the fugitive.
I understand both points of view. You cannot ignore the laws of another country, regardless of your purpose. However, Dog put up money for the criminal to show up, which he didn't. That meant the money was coming out of Dog's pocket, money for his family. Maybe Mexico needs to work closer with U.S. authorities to establish some guidelines and to work together to bring justice to the people!

Considering the dangerous U.S. criminal that was loose in Mexico, I would think that Mexicans as well as Americans would be thankful that Dog Chapman took Luster off the streets. Luster was in a bar looking at all the vulnerable young women there, when Chapman's crew found him. If Chapman hadn't taken action, he could have raped more women. And who knows, he might not have been caught at all. There are times when a bounty hunter can be faster and more effective than the regular police agencies, whether we like it or not. American police also have mixed feelings about bounty hunters, but they have their place. Chapman is under constant media and police vigilance, so he has to stay honest. I sincerely hope the Mexican authorities can see the case in this light.

I see the Mexican government's point that bounty hunting is illegal per their laws. This is a case where special consideration should be considered. The fugitive in question that Dog caught was proven guilty in a court of law of raping and drug distrubution and is now serving a 120+ year sentence. Dog caught the guy that neither the Mexican or American governments could find. Personally, I am disgusted that my government would hand over these men and have no problem telling my official government representatives my opinion "LET DOG GO"!

I find it distrubing that the rapist Chapman apprehended was able to
freely move around Mexico, without any interference from local Mexican law enforcement - while Chapman could be potentially imprisoned for bringing a fugitive to justice.

No wonder many fugitives run to the border and over it - with the lack of enforcement (for whatever reason...) any criminal would be smart to do what Andrew Luster did.

Dog is a bounty hunter. Bounty hunting is illegal in mexico. Duane went after the Max Factor killer in Mexico. (for reference the us never gave him the reward they had on Lewis' head)
Does it suck the Mexicans arrested Dog? Yes yes is does hes a good guy who gets bad guys off the street and sets not to bad guys straight. He himself did time in jail. But hes a good guy.
He also hasnt been extidated yet. At least the news is saying he hasnt and is still in Hawii in American custody.

I think is is disguisting to arrest Dog for getting a slimebag off the streets. No wonder I have no desire to go to Mexico and I don't much care for the illegal mexicans that are living here.

I didn't even know that he was arrested.
He is really popular in America, and in Canada. He has a tv show.
And that's the problem. People only know what the media tells them, not the whole story. People always think that they know the whole story, but the world would be naive to think that they know everything only hearing things through the bias of the media.
