I would say that you can't get any closer to the Falls, then the Marriott. Every room in the hotel is Fallsview. Beautiful hotel, you are looking for inexpensive, well sun-thurs you will get better rates. Also from now until about the second week of November rates are cheaper too, and then again in Jan and Feb they are low again. Rooms right now are starting at 180 bucks.
Rebuttal to the one that said no matter where you go you can see through the mist, that is a false statement. Hotels cannot control the amount of mist that will be outside of your room. THe higher you get on a misty day, the harder it will be to see the falls.

The best view of the falls from any hotel in Niagara Falls has to be Fallsview Casino Hotel.
My wife and I stay there a couple of times a year. It is expensive but well worth the view.

Marriot - falls view. me and my husband went in march, and you can see the falls from your room.
The sheraton - falls view.
the 2 hotels have high prices. lol

The major chains all have rooms where you can see the falls through the mist .
Depends on your budget , you can pay alot or you don't have to.

well there are a few but the closest would be the marriot .. close to 900 dollars
