its a tricky situation..but i feel you should go with what is important to you..but i do suggest that you let them meet him before hand.. try to talk to them...first reaction I'm sure will be very rude and upsetting..that's how my family acted..saying that they didn't deserve to be treated like this and so forth..i told them that not once did they ask if i was happy..they are just concerned about what others will think..all i can say is too stand firm behind what ever decision you make and no matter what ..still be respectful to your family (even if they are not)..do not give them any reason to say you have changed or anything like that....good luck....

As long as their is no abuse from either of you, it should be no problem. I'm the kind of person who thinks as aparent and sibling, you hurt my family member, I'LL HURT YOU. look around at all the ethnic mixtures going on now without prejudism. I think it's good that some of the culture clashing and bashing is over.

Go for it! Bring the young man along and show your family that you are proud to be seen with him. If they have any prejudices, well at least they will know your stance on the matter and that you are not going to back down.
If he is a nice guy, I am sure he will win them over.
Best of luck to you both

Well, if your family really does love you, they'll accept him for the sake of your happiness. Just give them a talk about being respectful before he actually meets them.

You konw... its only the older generations these days that really even care about ethnic backrounds... youth these days have completly melded together (except for those stupid racist assholes) but ne1 who is racist is now looked down upon in this age.... so you should be happy about your bf and if your parents can't except that then that's their problem and not yours.
