Circumference of the earth:
Equatorial circumference = 40,075.02 km
Meridional circumference = 40,007.86 km
Mean circumference = 40,041.47 km
Conversion to miles is 5:8 so just over 25,000 miles in each case

Here is an easy way to approximate the circumference.
Remember that there are 24 hours a day. This means that there are 24 time zones. Reach time zone is about 1000 miles apart so the earth is ~24,000 miles around. This number is a little low but works for quick calculations.

The lazy way to answer this question is to use nautical miles.
There are 60 nautical miles per degree latitude, and 360 degrees around the Earth, therefore the circumference of the Earth is 21600 nautical miles.
