If a man wears a shirt with a white color, say a pink shirt with a white collar, what color tie will match best?
I say pink, but I have a coworker that SWEARS any color will do.

I agree with snickers. You could either match the color of the shirt or the color of the pants. any color will NOT do. Does he think red would go with it? orange maybe? Those are both colors and would not go well with your pink shirt. ;-)

Your coworker has no sense of style.
If the white shirt has pink in it, go with the pink tie.
And tell him / her they are wrong ! NOT every color tie would go with a white with pink shirt.
( I assume you're talking about a solid colored pink tie )

Nope, not ANY color. Would your coworker wear a green tie on a pink shirt w/a white collar? Only if he's Elton John .
I agree with you; I'd go with a pink tie -- that is, a very subtle pink tie on a subtle pink shirt, i.e., it's not "hot pink" or "fuscia"!

Pink, but a different shade of pink. For instance, i'm imagining a baby pink (hope i'm right) shirt with a white collar. A dark pink satin tie would look great. Also, i think a black satin tie would look nice too. You are making your fashion statement with the pink shirt...anything too flashy, like blue or purple would be too much for the office space. Unless you work for chipendales.

I wouldn't say pink, it's too much pink also a shirt and a tie, I say maybe a white tie or off white... definitely not any color!!!

If you are brave enough to wear a pink shirt, then any color tie is good. If you can work it, then go for it.
However, I do admit pink men's shirt is becoming quite popular now.

go with your instinct...pink shirt+white collar=pink tie. Don't listen to that knucklehead fashion misfit of a coworker you have...My dad has this exact ensemble already and it looks great on him.

My husband wears a pink/gold/baby blue or gray design tie with his shirt like that, and a gray suit.
