He may be very serious about the marital vows that he entered into with her and then again it could be that he really truly does love her but doesn't like her ways. It can be hard to tell sometimes but what I do know is that when a man chooses a woman that he wants to marry in his mind it is for keeps. A man can choose to sleep with anybody and keep it moving but to actually take the time out to get to know a woman and make the HUGE decision to marry her speaks volumes as to how he truly feels for that person.

Dispise is a strong word. There is obviously more to it than he is letting you on to. Have you ever thought that maybe he is telling you that to get attention or get closer to you with no intention of ever leaving his wife? I think his wife may have a different side.

Some people hold their vows true and not matter what, they have chosen to spend their life with that person. Some people are too scared of change or of being alone, that they will put up with someone terrible, just so they always have someone. Sound's like he's scared to be alone.

It could be he's more into control than love if he won't let her go. Or, it could be they are staying in a loveless marriage for the kids (which never made sense to me but it seems to make sense to some people).

you know what. sometimes you just dont want to be alone and even if thats not the case when you have been in love with someone at somepoint in a relationship somtimes you just know that person is for you even if you dont want them to be but if they are not made for eachother you just have to wait it out and let it run its corse and eventually they will live, love , learn, AND LEAVE!!

Financial reasons, children, there are many reasons. He is probably just too "comfortable", you would be surprised, there are plenty of married couples who are together because it's just "easier" than going thru a divorce.
