i don't know much about democritus. are there two major faults with his atomic theory? You ask what are two objects that prove that his theory is wrong, but I don't see how two objects could prove that his theory is wrong. HIs theory is that all material things are made up of atoms (indestructible little things that are the smallest possible bit of matter, not to be confused with the atoms of modern physics.) For any material object, Democritus says that it is composed of these atoms, and it would be impossible to disprove this empirically, i think. every bit of matter that could be destroyed or divided further could be made up of Democritic atoms. Protons, electrons, neutrons, quarks, neutrinos, photons, etc. All of these can be said to be made up of Democritic atoms. Science could never disprove his theory. Its important not to confuse his "atoms" with what we call "atoms" today. Obviously modern atoms are not indestructible or the smallest bits of matter. But that doesn't mean democritus was wrong. In fact, since modern physics has shown that matter and energy are the same things, even energy could possibly be made up of democritic atoms. Its not a theory that can be disproven, I think. What did you have in mind exactly?

almost everything IS made of atoms. I suppose light is not made of atoms, if you want to consider light a "thing". And I suppose particles smaller than atoms are not made of atoms-protons, electrons, neutrons, etc.
