i think duckworth lewis is not a good one because u cannot predict future.one team may not have lost any wickets for 20 overs but who knows it might be all out in 30th over.in d/w the position (both wickets and run rate) is compared at current over
is compared .some teams pick up their run rate in last 20 overs.
for example australia and south africa's memorable match in which australia made 434 and S.A 438 and won.however australia made 230 runs in just last 20 overs.

It is very unfair to the team batting first and fully loaded in favour of the team batting second. In the match between Australia and West Indies at one stage West Indies were 137 runs for no wicket with better run rate against Australia. However, they were allout for 201 runs and Australia won the match. If the play was to be stopped in that match also after 20 overs, West Indies would have been declared as Winner. This is a testimony of my feeling that the law is not at all fair

DWL is to complicated to work out for the average fan and doesn't seem to be consistent with totals going up and down all the time. But saying that both teams know the rules before the start of the game and shouldn't moan about it if they lose because of it.

first of all in cricket nothing can be predicted. even 6 wickets getting out in the 50th over of a ODI is possible. so its very difficult to predict d future.
so by these standards D/L method is very fine bcoz it can predict d future/outcome of d match. D/L considers d resources left with d team when a match is interrupted. resources include no. of wickets fallen and no. of overs left.
so its unfair 2 critisize D/L method.

Let me guess - you are Indian, and you feel aggrieved that you were soundly beaten by the West Indies using this method. I approve of it, as there is no better way of deciding rain affected games other than making it a "no result".

If Duch woht Louie is in, Power Point should be out. If Power Point is in , D& L should be out.Otherwise ODI will loose its Charm.

The down side is that it's an advantage to be batting second but there's no simple alternative.
