flexibility does not help with backhandsprings. But if you want to become more flexable anyways just stretch...do some backbends.

Lots of stretching, your back legs arms, everything. Take a gymnastics class if you arent already. Drink lots of water and take vitamin E. It helps with elasticity and is stored inyour muscles. Stretching also helps your joints which are as important as your muscles in becoming limber. Try yoga as well.

stretching is always necessary but core strength is what helps you tumble. look for a cheerleading gym/training center that offers tumbling classes
