Ive been taking yasmin for about 2 years now and after doing some research on it lately ive decided that its something i definetly want to stop taking. i know me asking some of these things will sound really stupid but i was just wanting to check

can you just stop taking the pill immediatly or do you have to consult your doctor? also (okay i know this is a ridiculous question) i know it says that your boobs may grow if you take the pill, so does that mean they will get smaller if you stop? and i also read that the pill can cause weight gain, so will stopping cause weight loss? yeah yeah i know those are stupid questions but i figured id ask anyway.

oh and if anyone has taken it because they thought they were having side effects, how long did it take until you were back to normal or was it permanent?

Yes you can stop taking the pill without going to your doctor. When your cycle is due to start just do not take the next months pills, your cycle will be strange for a few months but in about 3 months time your body will be fine and no you won't lose your breast size nor will you gain weight unless you get pregnant. You will be fine.. good luck

I have been on Yasmin for 5 years now and have had great success. Yasmin has potassium in it, this helps with edema (water retention). It also has 3 weeks of the same dose, this helps with the up and down of hormones that other pills could cause (if you are on the wrong dose).

Your questions are not silly...
You should at least finish the pack before quiting. As well as consult with your DR. there may be a better pill for you. When I have stopped taking the pill with Yasmin I have gained a few pounds instead of losing. Your breast enlarge due to the increased estrogen and it is very possible they will go down in size as the estrogen decrease (same when you get pregnant and increased breast size). It could take a few months to get back to normal.

I LOVE YASMIN!! I have been taking it now for three years and have had nothing but positive effects. I lost about twenty pounds after starting the pills, my skin looks awesome, and I have never become pregnant! Every pill I tried in the past made me gain weight, become moody, and zapped my energy. Now my periods are lighter and less painful! I have more energy and I look great because of Yasmin. I am so happy i found this product because I have the freedom of birth control with no harsh side effects....only positive side effects. Besides I would rather be on Yasmin than have a child at this point in life. All I can say is HOORAY for Yasmin! Oh FYI....getting pregnant will make you fat, moody, and it will make your boobs saggy plus after the pregnancy you will have a screaming baby and tons of responsibility for the next 18 years of your life. If you look at it from that aspect.....I would remain on Yasmin!

Ughhh Yasmin is hell!!!! It has caused countless deaths!!! Get off of it! I was on it, and it started to make my hair fall out!! Not only that but it was giving me a ton of side effects. Call your gyno and switch ASAP!!!!! I felt better about a month after I stopped taking that garbage. I have not noticed anything different with weight, but I do know I feel alot better!!!

I stopped taking my pill mid pack and all it did was make my period come sooner than it normally would. I think I stopped taking my pill on a Tuesday and my period came on a Sunday and it wasn't due for another couple weeks. I didn't lose any weight but that was just me. When I was on the pill my periods were light and hardly no cramping. But as soon as I went off the pill that next period I was back to heavy periods and cramping and even worse... my face broke out!

your doctor can answer your questions best - but with any pill your have been on for that long of a period of time you will have to wean your self off, not just quit cold turkey. I am sure that there are going to be changes in your body, but nothing as drastic as you fear.
