I basically would use if for school papers, internet, and music. I am not a gamer.

If you only want it for web surfing, email, chat and the occasional essay, the lowest performance one will do everything you need. Any name brand is fine. Dell HP IBM Acer for low price. Sony, Toshiba, will cost a bit more. Apple is stylist, but prices and doesn't have all the software you might need that windows computers have (word, etc)

If your into games, movies, graphic design or programming, or anything that needs intense computing power, you'll need to buy a high performance one. But if this is the case, buy a desktop for the high computing stuff, since they run at 50% the cost of the same performance laptop. Then just buy the cheapest laptop for when you're out and about.

dell is the best one if his/her mom or dad pays for it.........the good one costs about Rs.80,000...........
