A scorpion, a wind scorpion, a camel spider, a whip scorpion, or a pseudoscorpion. I need a little more to go on, but here's a link to some photos so you can see which it might be.

Hello, hope I can help. Since scorpions and spiders are both arachnids (not insects), they have the same number of legs (8), and the legs are similarly constructed. So it could be possible that you are simply looking at a scorpion.
Here are some websites from Texas A&M University that may help you in identifying your mystery bug:
Scorpions: http://entowww.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg364.html
Pseudoscorpions: http://entowww.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg375.html
Wind scorpions: http://entowww.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg376.html
Vinegaroons, or whip scorpions: http://entowww.tamu.edu/fieldguide/cimg365.html
Hope this helps!

Wow, that could be so many things. I agree with the answer above mine (candy something or other) that those would probably be your best guess. But really, it depends a great deal on how you define spider legs and scorpion body. Sorry, but that is not enough detail to know for sure. Try looking up the things the candy person gave.

Um, would that be a Psuedo-scorpion? I saw them in the desert. They didn't have stingers.
