I don't watch local shows. But if its P.Ramlee, I'm tempted. Sadly for some strange reason I haven't been able to catch his shows in years... I think that Astro singing contest (whatever it was called) was one of the worst. Hahaha! Guess not enough money put into shows? Its all about saving money and cutting corners. Also...the majority of actors are pretty much are Malays only which can result in not much variety in terms of a real Malaysian life. Some of the really terrible shows even put different races but only as the bad guys! Not sure how those shows manage to be put on air at all... Prison Break or House is simply out of our league. Mostly because the government will say its inapropriate for us to produce those kinds of shows. With those kinds of restrictions...its no wonder most shows is beyond the word ridiculous. And reality shows...well it shows about real people, maybe that's why its so appealing. Edit!: With the kind of freedom and dozens of years behind them, no wonder the Americans can create great shows. Americans have always been experimenting with new ideas and that unfortunely something we Malaysians (well most of us) don't have. There is a very deep fear of failure among us and that makes sponsors unable to part with their money. Many of us have a sense of security only in familiar territory but the real adventure is way out there. In the end its our state of mind that prevents us to grow.

I personally think it was Star Trek. It defined an era and changed our culture.

I also think All In the Family and Seinfeld are definitely up there as well.
