What are some major problems in today's world that can be measured in data?

I would like to do a project and find relationsips between two major problems, I just want to do something to keep me busy, I am a stay at home mom with a major in statistics. I would like some topics which I could find possible relationships and

Income and health. You can compare various groups (i.e. one countries, races, geographic location in the US, etc). The only problem I could see with that would be the many variables that would come into play.
